Prochaska Gallery is the online store for hand blown glass sculpture and figurines created by Kevin Prochaska, a Disneyland glass blower for 10 of his more than 40 years of experience.
I am considered a master glassblower, versatile in all styles of lampwork utilizing colored or crystal borosilicate. Although glass wedding cake toppers make up a large percentage of my work, I also enjoy making toasting glasses, collectible figurines, sculptures, Christmas ornaments, candle holders, perfume bottles, bells, thimbles and custom awards.
When I was little, I marveled at the collection of intricate glass figurines that decorated my sister's room. I became determined to learn the trade when I was 17 years old so I began reading books about the art and started to experiment on my own. In 1977, I began my professional career as a glass artist at Disneyland CA where I met my wife. As a Disneyland glassblower for more than a decade, I enjoyed working in the public eye creating various sculptures for the guests and celebrities who would sometimes watch for hours. I've been fortunate to have my work appear in various television specials, feature length films, and even at the White House.
Here are just a few of the unique projects I have worked on over the years:
The "Walley World" glasses featured in Warner-Brothers Studios - National Lampoon's "Christmas Vacation" starring Chevy Chase, Randy Quaid, and Beverly D'Angelo.
During the Reagan Administration, I designed and manufactured One-of-a-Kind Christmas Tree Ornaments to represent the State of California at the White House in Washington D.C.
The Cinderella's Glass Slipper in "The Grace Kelly Story" starring Cheryl Ladd.
Created the hilariously oversized bifocals worn by Danny Kaye in “Disney's 25th Anniversary Special” with Danny Kaye.
